Charging fluidised bed or rotary refuse incinerator - by worm conveyor receiving hot incinerator gas by compressed air driven ejector

The process is for charging a refuse incinerator (9), partic. of the fluidised bed or rotary type. It makes use of a worm conveyor (1) in which the refuse is brought into contact with hot, dust-laden combustion gas which is extracted (2) from the incinerator by an ejector (3). The ejector may be powered by compressed air. Water may be fed into this air, the quantity of water being determined by the temp. of the worm housing. The supply of refuse to the worm may be by suction plunger press (4) and worm pump (5), the amount being continuously adjusted to maintain a constant temp. in the incinerator.
