PURPOSE:To construct a steering gear ratio verying device in a small size by moving a slider in the axial direction of a shaft when a control signal about gear ratio change is fed to the input part, receiving the reaction force to this movement with a coupling means, and displacing an output shaft in the rotating direction. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 22 and an output shaft 23 arranged on the sides of a cylindrical case 21 are supported concentrically, and the former 22 is connected with a column shaft while the latter 23 with the input shaft of a rotary valve. A cylindrical slider 28 is loosely fitted as striding the oppositely situated ends of two shafts 22, 23, and this slider 28 is spline coupled with the input shaft 22 through balls 29... and helically spline coupled with the output shaft 23 through balls 51.... A piston 56 is installed protruding in the left part of the slider 28, and supply and exhaust of pressure fluid to/from chambers 58a, 58b partitioned on both sides thereof is controlled, and thus the slider 28 is moved axially, and the output shaft 23 is rotated. |
