A POLYMERIC-COATED FABRIC LAYER AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

Fabric for securing to a polymeric product has a foamed polymer layer (14) secured to the fabric (11) with the outer surface of the foam readily conformable to the product. The fabric is pref. a bias fabric and the foam may have an impervious or pervious other surface (15) which can be overcoated with polymer. There may be a polymer layer on both sides of the fabric, and the product is an endless transmission belt, with the fabric forming at least part of the outside surface. The foam provides better conformability with the product surface.
