Automatic low level indicator for grain silo - operates by gravity as weight of stored material fails to support high level setting

A low-level warning indicator for a silo containing grain or similar material is attached to the outside of the silo. A sensor in the form of a pipe (B) lies horizontally inside the silo and is supported by a housing (A) attached to the silo wall so that it is extended on a pivot to an indicator arm. Onfilling the silo, the sensor is maintained in the horizontal plane by the weight of material above it. As material is extracted and a low level is approached the weight of material no longer suffices to hold the sensor horizontally. It is then moved upwards by a counterweight on the indicator arm, which swings to give a low level alarm.
