<p>The plate is particularly for the construction of furniture panelling etc, and consists of a core of expanded cement inside an envelope of cladding material closely fitting onto the core, so as to form a single unit. The envelope can be of plastic, metal or wood-based material, varnished or plastered on the outside. Where of plastic, this can be applied in a fludised bed or by electrostatic projection. The core can be reinforced by glass, mineral or asbestos fibre. A plate of this type can be formed into a drawer by bending, and grooved to accommodate guide rings and an end wall.</p> |
