The specification teaches the preparation of 3,4,5trimethoxyphenyl-(1,4-dimethyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-2-pyridyl)-carbinol characterized in that 3,4-trimethoxyphenyl-4 (4-methyl-2-pyridyl) is reacted with a methyl halogen to produce 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl-(1,4-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl)-carbinol halogen.
