PURPOSE: To enhance the heat resistance by entangling a batt consisting of aramid staple fibers or the like with a supporting scrim consisting of glass fibers and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) fibers or the like, thereby forming a filter felt. CONSTITUTION: The supporting scrim having a weight of 100 to 550 g/m<2> and a line density of 1000 to 5000 dtex is formed of a bulky yarn or the like consisting of 40 to 75 wt.% glass fibers having a line density of 0.2 to 2 dtext/ filament and 25 to 60 wt.% PTFE fibers having a line density of 3 to 10 dtext/ filament. The batt is formed of the staple fibers having the line density of 0.2 to 20 dtext/filament from aramid, PTFE or the like. The batt of the stable fibers is entangled with the supporting scrim described above, thereby, the high temp. filter felt usable for a long period of time at a temp. up to 300 deg.C is obtd. |
