The invention refers to a method of reinforcing load bearing plates with collapsible jointed rods. The reinforcement density can be varied within certain limits without changing the dimension of the rod. This results in the cutting, binding and transport work being affected. The joints in the rods can be produced through the rod being rolled flat on a certain section, on which a bit of special band steel is welded to the rod ends of conventional rod steel, or through the connection being made in a plastic material. The load tolerance and structure are affected by the joint construction.
