<p>The contents of a dung pit are reconstituted into a homogeneous mass which can be spread by the simple equipment generally available, in a quick and economical fashion; by a mechanism driven by a tractor or an electric motor. It consists of a frame with bevels transmitting the drive to a vertical shaft, on which, at its lower end, two rigid arms are jointed. The degree to which the arms open is controlled by the lifting and lowering of the shaft. This is operated by a hand lever which locks the arms in the closed position or in the open position for working. Centrifugal force opens the arms to their maximum, and the mechanism may be fitted to a support frame spanning the ditch or to the three points of a tractor.</p> |
