<p>The machine is used for fixing a stopper into a bottle with a ground glass neck. It comprises an air cylinder (7) mounted vertically on a base and equipped with a plate (2) holding the bottle (F). The stopper (B) is placed in the bottle and the assembly raised to contact an oscillating mallet (1). This latter is mounted on an arm (3) and is driven by a motor (5) and an eccentric cam (4), a spring (6) maintaining contact. Controlled repeated blows are struck on the stopper, the number of blows and their force being determined by experience.</p> |
