The air gauge is used for checking and sorting bottle corks and comprises upper (1) and lower (2) rings, each having a lip (1a, 2a) around its bore. Between these rings and behind the lips is a thick washer (3) controlling the flow of air applied to a hole (2d) in the lower ring. The air enters an annular passage (3a) and escapes into the bore, between the lips. Depending on the fit of the cork passing through the bore, the restricted air flow causes a back pressure which is measured at an outlet (2b) from the annular passage.
|
