Automobile flash lamp electronic control circuit - uses multi-transistor circuit with diode, capacitor and transformer

The circuit has a transistor which delivers an illumination control signal when a periodically interrupted current passes through a transformer primary winding. A potentiometer attenuator is connected in the transformers secondary winding so as to regulate the production of the illumination control signal so that it corresponds to the number of flash lamps used. A diode is connected between the attenuator and transistor so that the exponential part of its characteristic is used so as to improve sensitivity. A capacitor charged via the diode supplies to the base of the control transistors voltage of amplitude and duration just sufficient to trigger it. A resistor is connected between the base of the transistor and the bias source so that increase in source voltage does not increase sensitivity.
