Emergency release for vehicle safety belt - has anchor point buckle with closing lever freed by pulling second lever upwards to release lock

The emergency release is fitted to the upper anchor point of a vehicle safety belt and comprises a flat U-shaped buckle (1) fixed (2) to the vehicle body. The open end is closed by a lever (3) pivoting upwards (4), its free end (3a) locking onto the pivoting end (12) of a second lever (6). This second lever is parallel to the first, the belt (5) passing through the space between. Its pivot operates at 90 deg. to the first lever and keeps this first lever locked. When pulled aside (10), it releases the lock and frees the closing lever.
