An unhardened lightweight concrete block advanced to a cutting station, has the consistency of cheese so that it retains its shape under normal handling forces. A cutting wire can be, however, readily passed through this material. The concrete block is placed on a moving flexible belt conveyor. A gas is passed between the opposite faces of the belt and the supporting plate. Gas paths are formed between these two surfaces. A force acting on one end of the block, pushes it over a given distance to the cutting station. The flexible belt moves along together with the block movement.
|
