The cylindrical silo is used for bulk storage and is constructed from rings made on the site. The required rolling machinery is transported to the site and erected, the raw material being flat strip. Each ring (16) is rolled to the correct dia. and is provided with an upper (12) and a lower (13) flange. After butt welding the ends together, each ring is stacked onto those already on the foundation. The installation is completed by continuous welding of the flange joints, both inside (14) and outside (15), and finally positioning and welding the top cover.
