Cast article comprises a portion provides with crests and/or hollows and a smooth continuous flange to which the crests and/or hollows are attached. The crests and/or hollows extend towards the edge of the object and the flange is located near to the edge. The flange comprises a lip located at the outer periphery of the edge. Articles having crests and hollows can be produced at a much lower price than conventional article because of the presence of the flange which enables the casting procedure to be improved due to the easier removal of flash with improved and faster handling.
