Position-responsive switch for quartz watch - uses metal weight bridging contact pins coupled to series delay circuit

The watch includes a position-responsive switch, which closes a current circuit when the watch is held in the selected position for a given length of time e.g. 4 seconds. The switch comprises a tubular housing (1) containing a cylindrical metal weight (2), which drops into position under gravity to bridge two contact pins (3). A spring coil (4) is positioned between the latter with a spring tension such that the metal weight (2) bridges the contact pins only when the housing (1) is completely vertical and there is no contact between the weight (2) and the housing (1). Pref. the contact pins (3) are coupled to a series delay circuit (5) which completes the circuit after a given delay period.
