Upright metal shelf frames with support slots - have protruding extensions of side walls for fixing wooden corner plates

The uprights normally of metal which make up the shelf are provided at their corner edges with webs (4) which form a continuation of the side walls (2) so that correspondingly shaped corner strips (5) pref. of wood can be pushed onto these webs from one end so that only the centre part of the walls (2) which contain the insert slots (3) for the shelves are left free. The walls of the upright can be formed by strip-like metal plates whose longitudinal edges are toothed so that each corner edge has alternately protruding webs, whilst the strip-like plates themselves can be connected together by spot welding. The grooves (6) in the corner strips (5) which take up the protruding webs (4) can be easily manufactured by two saw-tooth cuts which are made at right angles to each other in the corner strips (5) which are square at the outset.
