Sandwich structure building panel - has thin cladding sheets on rigid foam plastics core with breaks in protruding edges

The building panel is a three-layered sandwich unit, with outer layers of fibreglass-plastics or other plastics or metal sheet layers, or wooden layers, while the core is of plastics foam. A core of plastics foam of approx. 40 kp/m3 standard is edged all round with hard foam of approx. 330 kp/m. The whole core is then covered on both sides with thin claddings of plastic, metal or wood, cemented to it. The hard foam edges may partially protrude outwards through the claddings. Cladding and hard foam edge may incorporate breaks which pass through transversely to the long side of the panel. The hard foam edge makes the panel suitable for joining to roof panels, windows, doors or other elements.
