The assembly incorporates a row of pins which have a first section(5) of small dia. followed by grooved sections (8, 7) with dias. increasing in steps. The steps aid centring of parts which are placed on the pins. Hollow connecting pins(3) which are fed from a supply drum are first dropped over the pins, followed by outer links, inner links(1) and another set of outer links(2). The connecting pins are first pressed into the first set of outer links after which the second set of outer links are pressed and staked onto the connecting pins.
