Piston arrangement for dry lubricated reciprocated compressors has the piston made integral with the piston rod and the sealing between the piston and the cylinder wall is provided by a polyamide or polyurethane ring, which has a cylindrical portion from which depend annular walls which abut the associated piston walls. The ring is held on the piston by its inherent elasticity and the cylindrical portion is provided additionally with two outwardly facing sealing lips. The piston is pref. provided with a peripheral groove in which is located a magnetic ring which may be used for contactless switching or reversal of piston stroke.
