<p>In a two-part mould for the sand casting of tin, the moulds have lateral casting gates in the plane of the joint between the two halves. During the ramming of the moulding sand these openings in the mould are closed by detachable covers. The gate can be simply scraped out. The mould requires less skilled labour for use, and allows the poured tin to spread out horizontally.</p> |
