摘要 PURPOSE:To receive an image with high density by a method wherein an intermediate layer provided between an image receiving layer and a substrate is mainly composed of a resin having a specific thermal conductivity. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer image receiving material formed by providing an image receiving layer containing a thermoplastic resin which can accept a dye on a substrate, an intermediate layer provided between said image receiving layer and the substrate is mainly composed of a resin having a thermal conductivity of 7X10<-4>cal/sec.cm/ deg.C.cm or less to produce the thermal transfer image receiving material. By using the thermal transfer image receiving material in which the intermediate layer is mainly composed of the resin having a thermal conductivity of 7X10<-4>cal/sec.cm/ deg.C.cm or less, a heat dispersion applied to the image receiving layer during a transfer is prevented, and an image with a high density can be obtained. As the resin having a thermal conductivity of 7X10<-4>cal/sec.cm/ deg.C.cm or less, a polyvinyl chloride or the like can be used.
