The wire or resistive layer of the resistance construction is enclosed between two metal end caps (2). One of the metal caps (2) or both caps have a flat contacting device (3) which form a common tangential plane, by which the resistor is placed on a plane circuit and connected to it. In its simplest form the contacting devices (3) are flat sheets, fastened in line contact with the cylindrical metal caps. Alternative forms of contacting device may use L-shaped sheets, contacting the cylindrical surfaces of the caps in two places. A variant of this type has the L-shapes fastened to the flat ends of the caps. There may be flat contactor on the flat ends of the caps where the resistor element (1) is sandwiched between two conducting surfaces.
