PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for re-adjustment of sound volume on each occasion even when a frequency characteristic is changed in a sound quality adjustment device such as an equalizer. CONSTITUTION:When a key entry section 1 designates a level at the flat state to make a ratio of a boost side variable width to a cut side variable width to be a desired ratio, a microcomputer 2 sets automatically the gain of an amplifier 5 once based on a setting value to correct an overall level of a music caused by a change in the level at the flat state and the set flat level is displayed on a display device 3. When the key entry section 1 designates the boost or the cut of each band, the microcomputer 2 sets the boost or cut of each band of an equalizer network 4. Simultaneously, the boost or cut of each band is displayed on the display device 3. The microcomputer 2 calculates an overall gain GA from gains G1-Gi of each band in the equalizer network 4 and varies the gain G of the amplifier 5 in response to the overall gain GA of the equalizer network 4. |
