<p>Slip resistant sheet comprises a support coated with a known coating compsn. for paper, the compsn. contg. dispersed hollow and deformable plastic microspheres. The support may be paper, hardboard, (non)woven fabrics, plastics films or metal foils. The microspheres are pref. polyvinylidene chloride or its copolymer with acrylonitrile and comprise 5-20 wt. % of the coating compsn. the compsn. also contains inorganic fillers and a binder. Used in the prodn. of webs, corrugated hardboard, packaging for transporting goods, desk pads, and esp. table sets. The sheet has a suede and velvet appearance, a suedelike touch, is biodegradable and therefore recoverable (c.f. polystyrene foam), opaque and can be printed.</p> |
