<p>A process and appts. for sepg. fine fractions in the form of dusts and fractions of low-boiling hydrocarbons in the form of vapours and aerosols, carried by the current of gas leaving a mixing and drying drum during the prepn. of a bituminous mixt., incorporates feeding the gas in a filter through a stream of mineral to which water is added. The stream of mineral consists of a starting material, at a temp. such that the hydrocarbons are condensed on the mineral materials. The condensate, with the film of water present on the surface together with condensed steam form the gases leaving the drum, binds and fixes the mineral fines present in the gas on the outer surface of the mineral materials. The mineral leaving the filter is fed back to the drying and mixing drum for prepn. treatment. The process, which can be applied to the standard treatment, avoids the risk of damage to the separator by overheating and provides for safe return of the materials, sepd in the treatment, to the circuit, protecting the screening line.</p> |
