Combined sofa and bed with storage unit - has seat backing onto storage unit to form integral piece into which bed retracts by sliding

The combined furniture piece saves space and incorporates storage units(2), a sofa(1), and a bed(3). The back of the sofa(1) is formed by the storage units(2), and the bed(3) is retractable. The sofa(1) and the storage units(2) are integrated and have a combined floor area similar to that of the bed(3). The bed(3) can, thus, retract by sliding under the combined furniture piece. The bed(3) may be 1.4m wide and the sofa(1) 0.7m deep, and the bed(3) may comprise a shallow rigidly framed mattress on e.g. runners. The seat(1) may also be a rigidly framed mattress and may be mounted on a footing which houses the retracted bed(3). The bed(3) may displace in a direction normal to the length of the sofa(1), or may displace in a direction parallel with the sofa.
