Stabilising phosphate contg. washing liquids to cold storage - by adding water immiscible solvent as a micro-emulsion

A process improving the cold storage stability of a washing liq. contg. >=1 surfactant and >1 phosphate comprises adding >=1 water immiscible solvent for the surfactant in the form of a micro-emulsion. The phosphates are pref. >=1 of potassium pyrophosphate and tripolyphosphate. Specified solvents are 1,2-dichloroethane, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride, perchlorethylene, toluene, benzene and xylene. A co-solvent also pref. used esp. to a propanol or butylglycol. The process enables a high solids content and storage stability down to 0 degrees C.
