<p>A self-sealing dispensing valve, e.g. for an internally pressurised container, comprises an outer sleeve housing and an inverted cup-shaped annular inner valve member. The housing outer end is closed by a normally convex flexible diaphragm and it has a frustoconical inner sealing surface. The member has an outer rigid convex wall complementary to the diaphragm and attached to it at the centre, and a skirt normally seating on the housing inner surface. Inward movement of the diaphragm opens the valve which returns to the sealed posn. on release of the press. The parts are e.g. of moulded plastics.</p> |
