<p>Prodn. of coke with reduced electrical conductivity is effected by mixing the crushed coal with CaO, substances which form CaO during coking, or pref. with Ca(OH)2 in amt. of 1-50 (2-15) wt.% (calculated as CaO), to form a homogeneous mixt. which is then coked. Used esp. for electro-reduction processes, in which the heat required is generated by direct electrical heating. Output of electro-reduction processes can be increased and energy consumption reduced.</p> |
