<p>A composite glass pane is made, esp. for sound insulation, where >=2 glass panes are sepd. by a gap filled with a transparent, synthetic, hardenable material (b). One pane (a) is laid horizontally and provided with a spacer frame at its edges forming a seal with a second pane (c). One hole in the sealing frame is used to inject a liq. forming layer (b), whereas another hole in the frame is used for the escape of air from the gap filled by the liq. The frame is pref. a round elastic cord or flexible pipe made of synthetic material (d) coated on its working surfaces with a sealant, esp. a synthetic material (e) e.g. butyl rubber. After hardening of seal (e) compressed air can be used to increase the gap between the panes, so tubes for injecting liq. (b) and permitting the escape of air can be inserted in the spacer frame. The tubes are pref. located at the corners of the frame. The gap is pref. >=1 mm wide, and is esp. 0.5-10 mm wide; and material (b) pref. remains elastic after hardening. A simple mfg. method is provided avoiding air bubbles in material (b).</p> |
