<p>The plant has electrical components which are cooled by water (a); and also a liq. quenchant (b) for hardening the heated workpieces. Both liqs. (a, b) travel in separate closed circuits, each of which contain cooling appts. (a1, b1). The cooling appts. (a1, b1) is connected in series and fed with cold water from a mains water supply so the cold water is used to cool water (a) before cooling liq. (b). The two cooling units (a1, b1) are pref. each located in a tank (a, b); and the cold water leaving units (a1) is pref. collected in a tank (c) before being fed through unit (b1). Cooling water forms a substantial part of the cost incurred with induction heating and hardening plants. The invention reduces the water costs by ca. 50%.</p> |
