The various tables which make up the set are housed in a main table cube (4) which is open on two sides. On at least one side is a table top (12) wherein a number of individual tables 6, 8, 10 can be included. These correspond to the number of open sides in the main table cube. The surface of each table top corresponds to the area of the cube tabl and the feet (24, 26, 28, 30, 34) of the individual tables occupy a relative position to each other so that they can be fitted together one above the other and/or next to each other and/or transversely and vertically off-set relative to each other. This means that although the tables can be used individually they can also be combined into various formations since their basic height and table top surface are identical.
