Centrifuge bowl with improved abrasion resistance - having grid formed from wedge-shaped bars with transverse and vertical mounting in conical bowl

Centrifuge bowl for a sieve type centrifuge has a conical shape. It is constructed from segments each of which is in the form of a grid formed from a series of rods with wedge or trapezium shaped cross section. The narrow aperture between adjoining rods is mounted on the inner surface of the bowl and this serves to support the filtered material. The edges of the segments on both sides have reinforcement ribs mounted along the conical profile at the stress points of the segments. These ribs consist of a protective plate which in the longitudinal direction extends over the complete impact length of the segment on the inside of the bowl and which overlap the adjoining segments. Used in sepg. materials esp. abrasive ones such as coal and sand. The construction of the connection joints of the centrifuge ensures that premature failure of the weld connections and reinforcement ribs does not occur.
