Hollow suspended roofs for industrial furnaces use clamp shaped hanging tiles made from refractory material. These are mounted on parallel carrier bars. Refractory roof tiles are then suspended between the hanging tiles at right angles to the carrier bars, held by a support ledge whih forms the foot of the hanging tile. A further support ledge is located above the foot and a second layer of tiles can then be supported by this. The hanging tile can have two such support ledges above the foot. The head of the tile widens out and slots into hanging bracket attached via hook to the carrier bars. Method allows furnace roof tiles of a simple pattern to be used with several layers of them, reducing the cost and allowing the tiles direct mounting to the carrier bags.
|
