The butt jointed connection is for reinforced-concrete components with interfacing protruding fittings concreted in at their ends, for screwing together the intervening space between the ends being then filled with concrete. These fittings form a loop shackle protruding from one end face (14), with a slit (44) open on one side, while the fitting on the facing end takes the form of a threaded bolt (20) with nuts (22, 24). This enables the shackle to be displaced, by relative movement of the components (10, 12) along their end faces, to a position where the bolt penetrates the slit, with one nut sited inside the shackle and the other outside. The two nuts can then be firmly screwed onto the shackle. This is versatile and firm, while allowing precise adjustment of interval on site without calling for great skill.
|
