Endless wire cable is produced by winding six wire strands about a core whose ends are abutted, and the ends of the strands are spliced into the core. To prevent pulling out of the strands from the core, the outer dia. of the strand ends which are spliced is reduced and the ends are spliced with the core by winding the strands several times to locate the strand ends frictionally under induced tensile stress.
