<p>The guard is for use under a lifting platform, shutting off the intervening gap between platform and supporting floor on lifting at the side from which access is gained to the platform when lowered. It is a roller blind or curtain (12), attached by one horizontal end to one horizontal edge of the gap(A), and passed over a guide roller(13) on a horizontal axis situated at the other edge. From here it is pulled away horizontally under the platform(1) by a mechanism acting on its other horizontal end. Where the platform lifting mechanism has a component moving horizontally, this can be coupled by rope and spring to the blind end, so as to keep it taut at all times.</p> |
