By virtue of the special design of the seal and of the parts enclosing the latter, the flushing cover for waste pipes is intended to absorb high pressures and to avoid leakage, caused by temperature changes, and undesired release. Furthermore, the original shape of the sealing rings used is to remain the same. For this purpose, the invention provides a flushing cover in which the sealing ring (4) is arranged in an annular groove (6), of the termination piece (2), which is open towards the inner wall of the branch piece (1') of the waste pipe (1) and the counter-plate (3). Said sealing ring is cylindrical in shape, is formed from an elastomer, is rounded at the two inner edges (4' and 4'') of the cylindrical inner surface and has angled edges at the edges of its cylindrical outer surface directed towards the inner wall of the branch piece (1'). The flushing cover is particularly suitable for waste pipes, leading into sewerage systems, for domestic, commercial and industrial use. <IMAGE>
