<p>PURPOSE:To change paging speed by changing the transfer intervals of document images from a buffer memory to a bit map memory in accordance with the paging speed. CONSTITUTION:Document images are sequentially read from a document storage device 1 to the buffer memory 3 of plural pages and the document images are transferred from the buffer memory 3 to the bit map memory 5 in a picture display device 4 independent of reading. Here, the instruction of transfer is generated by an operation part 2 at time intervals corresponding to the paging speed which a user has designated. Thus, the paging speed is made variable, and effective and smooth document retrieval can be performed by changing the paging speed according to need.</p> |
