In order to connect the structural panels which are provided with coinciding holes, the connecting element has a hoop (8), as centring member for two holes, and a cover plate (1) for covering the centred panel holes. The cover plate (1) can be pushed onto the hoop (8) or is made in one part (17) with the latter. In the first case, the cover plate (1) has a central opening (3) through which the hoop (8) is pushed, into which opening (3) two tongues (3, 5) of the cover plate (1) project. After pushing through, hoop (8) and plate (1) are connected to one another, by deformation, such that they cannot be separated. <IMAGE>
