A series of grinding stations (7) are distributed around a rotating table (28) equipped with workpiece-holders (19) each supported by a sliding platform (21). The sliding platforms bear against fixed guiding rails (10), each by means of two rollers (30), and are each carried by two parallel slides mounted so as to pivot with respect to the table about a vertical axis. The rails (10) are placed according to a polygon, each side of which is associated with a grinding station (7). Elastic return elements (38) are arranged so as to decrease the pressure exerted on the rail by the roller which is located in front in the direction of displacement of the table and to ease the passage of this roller from one rail to the next. <IMAGE>
