A data recording medium which records image data and/or speech data and contains a plurality of lists. Some of the lists include item data indicating one or more items to be reproduced on the basis of this list, and reproduction control data including a pointer expressed by an offset from the leading part of the reproduction control data representing separate list connected. A data reproduction apparatus of this invention reproduces image data, etc., from the data recording medium in accordance with the data selected by a user's instruction from among the reproduction control data reproduced from this recording medium, when the image data, etc., are reproduced from the data recording medium. Accordingly, the present invention can easily reproduce (access) the data designated by the user.
