<p>PURPOSE:To improve the power-saving effect of the computer device by monitoring memory access of a dynamic random access memory and a read-only memory and controlling the electric power supply from a power source. CONSTITUTION:When the power source is turned on, MOSFET switches 9-11 are all turned ON and data in the ROM 4 are copied into the DRAM 3 for ROM copying by means of a CPU 1. The CPU 1 sets a memory control circuit 12 so that subsequent ROM data access is all done to the DRAM 3 for ROM copying. Then the CPU 1 sends an instruction for turning off the MOSFET switch 11 to a power control circuit 5 to turn off the power source of the ROM 4. In suspension transition mode, the CPU 1 sends an instruction for turning on the MOSFET switch 11 to the power control circuit 5 to enable the ROM 4 to operate and then the memory control circuit 12 is so set that subsequent data access is done to the ROM 4.</p> |
