The blank round cartridge comprises a bullet mounted in the constricted front end (3) of the case (1). The bullet comprises at the rear of an ogival part (4) a cylindrical body (5) comprising an axial channel (6) and at least one radial vent (7) communicating with the aforementioned axial channel. This vent (7) is, before firing, covered by the said end (3) of the case (1). The cylindrical body (5) comprises means for allowing it to slide, on firing, in the said end (3) of the case, along a travel (d) sufficient in order to free the vent (7) from this end (3) of the case (1). This cartridge makes it possible to ensure correct operation of an automatic weapon with an inertial bolt mechanism, and to do this without using an attached device. <IMAGE>
