The electronic surge suppressor intended for installation where there may be several groups of equipment fed from the same basic power source but which may or may not be required simultaneously, hence varying the power drawn at any one time. The suppressor can accommodate these changes in demand by threshold regulation. Surge detection is by a direct sensor on the power line feeding an amplifier and comparator with threshold regulation which has an output controlling a power module in the form of a contactor or triac (5).
