The centralising spacer is for electrical cables esp. those used in public lighting masts and posts. The spacer is intended to hold the cable centrally within the body of the post such that any movement of the lighting unit itself does not cause wear on the cable insulation. The spacer (4) is in the form of a multi-armed star made from an elastic material. The arms (6) of the star are sufficiently narrow to allow them to be pressed almost against the cable sleeving hence allowing for any variation in the post inside dia. The spacer may be a single or multi-piece and have either a self gripping central section (3, 7) or a screw tightened grip. |
