Fastening element for fixing plugs to a frame, e.g., a door frame, comprises guides for a pair of plugs, and between the guides, means for clamping the plugs in the guides. In the fastening element there is a duct with "dumb-bell"-shaped cross-section whose enlarged sections serve as guides for the plugs. Those wall portions of the fastening element adjacent the central section of the cross-section of the duct can be brought nearer to each other by constricting the enlarged sections. Pref. the fastening element is made of elastically deformable material e.g., a plastics such as a polyamide.
