Connection for vehicle shock absorber tubular parts - has wire filling passed into annular grooves of parts prior to relative rotation

The connection between inner and outer tubular parts (1, 2) e.g. in motor vehicle shock absorbers has the outer part (1) provided with an annular groove open to another annular groove (3) at the outside of the inner part. Both parts have diametrally opposite axial slots intersecting the grooves. A wire (8) is fed through the slots to lie diametrally across the grooves. One of the parts is then rotated relative to the other. This causes the wire to fill the passage formed by the confronting grooves and so connect the two parts.
